MAPU: LIVE @ THE HOTEL CAFE
MUSIC
MAPU / JAMAICA INITIATIVE
Event Schedule
We need the band for 3 days with the following schedule:
Thursday: Rehearsal
Sunday: Concert
Wednesday: Studio Recording
Band Coordination
Jeremy is currently working on:
Aligning the studio for the recording session.
Assembling the band with the following lineup:
Drums
Bass
Guitar
Keys
2 Djembe (or Jamaican Drum, or alternatively, Sugar as suggested)
Question for Consideration
If we use Earl Smith and his band, does Jeremy need to do as much legwork, or will we have two separate bands? Clarification is needed on the intended approach here.
Project Deliverables
What to expect from this initiative:
Filming: Everything will be filmed, resulting in a short film approximately 25 minutes in total running time (TRT).
Recording: An EP will be recorded, consisting of 3-5 songs and chants.
Concert Documentation: The concert will be filmed to document this historic exchange.
Budget
The plan is to budget $5,000 for the band’s involvement across the 3 days.
Note: This amount may need further discussion for accuracy if two bands are involved.
Business Structure
Funding: The project is currently self-funded through MFG/Boa Leaf.
Investor Opportunity: Seeking an investor to become a partner.
Revenue Model: Every entity involved will be brought in on a percentage basis for the life of the project.
Main Intention
The primary goal is to establish this as a local project through partnering companies, with the following objectives:
Produce an EP and a short film to serve as a foundation for creating a band or group of bands.
Enable the band(s) to go on tour to spread this energy.
Generate revenue through:
Album sales
Merchandise sales (e.g., T-shirts, Indigenous jewelry, and crafts)
Create spiritual art while building a sustainable revenue stream.
