A seven-part Docu-Series following a Black Father and son (Chris Davis & Chris jr.) on a “rags to riches” true life story. A heartfelt tale from living in America’s racist south to chasing a surfing dream and moving to maui.

While living on the streets of maui they are helped by an authentic Hawaiian family and shown how to live with aloha, farm the jungles, and teach Chris Junior how to surf as he rises to be a contender on the global surf scene.

( actual footage of Chris Davis Jr. surfing )

Woven throughout the narrative, Spencer Croul and the SHACC will come to sponsor the son and help him understand his place in surfing’s rich history dating back from Pacific Islander indigenous times, through Hawaii and California’s surfing boom, and into modern society’s global rise of the untold Afro-Surf culture.

In addition to live action footage taken in the SHACC and documentary footage of Chris Jr’s modern day rise to surf fame, moments from Chris’s backstory and untold Black SurfLore (that have not been captured on film) will be told with the use of African folk inspired animations.
