STORY 1: YAWA SHUVINI SHENIPAHU

“THE BOAR PEOPLE”
In this episode we hear the tale of how the YAWANAWA (“The Boar people) became the boar people of the Amazon Rainforest from Iskukua and his legendary father, Nixiwaka.

STORY 2: THE FIRST INSTRUMENT

Colonization was very hard on the people of the Rainforest. But there was a silver lining that came from this and that is the story of the first instrument, played by Iskukua’s Grandfather, that was left behind from this destruction and changed the way the amazon tribes convey their sacred chants and songs. This is the origin story of the music we hear them playing today.

“THE LITTLE CRAB”
A cute, charming, and dangerous tale of the little crab shaman as he negotiates for his life to a predator, the spiritual power he possesses.

STORY 4: ARAE ARAE

“THE UGLY BIRD”
There is power in the abilities you uniquely have form others. Not all that glitters is gold. Strength can appear within us in the most curious ways.

STORY 5: MÃMA MÃTIAMANI

“HOW TO BE A GOOD LEADER”
The communities and social structures of the Amazon have been in practice far past our known history books. Hear from an ancient lineage a story of leadership that exists nowhere else in the texts of the modern world.

SEASON 2 & BEYOND:

In future seasons we will travel deeper into the jungle to hear compelling stories from Spiritual Leaders of other tribes in the Amazon. For example, we can tell the love story between the Prince of the Ashaninka tribe who recently married the Princess of the Puyanawa tribe, highlighting their historical union and how they meld their traditions and show their differences, which is also their strength.
